You Are Worthy of Love: A Healing Message for Women Raised to Feel Small

"So many of us grew up feeling unworthy. This is your reminder: you are deeply loved, endlessly valuable, and worthy of all your dreams - just as you are." (Photo by Simona Toma on Unsplash)

Have you ever felt like you had to shrink in order to be loved?

Like your dreams were too big, your needs too much, your presence somehow inconvenient, or you were just “too much”?

If so, this message is for you:

You are so very worthy of love.

It may sound cliché, but it’s true - and it’s time to let that truth really sink in. Take a moment now. Just breathe it all in - I am so very worthy of love!

The Quiet Messages That Shape Us

So many of us, especially women and moms, grew up absorbing subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) messages that told us we weren't enough.

Not valuable.

Not lovable. Not worthy of love.

Not worthy of big dreams - only ones that kept us small and fit into others’ ideals.

Maybe no one said it outright. But the messages still came through - in how we were treated, what was celebrated or ignored, and which roles we were expected to play.

When the Church Tells You You’re Equal … But Not Really

In the church I grew up in – while they would probably say through some of their words that women are equal / valued the same and just as much as men – their actions, the power dynamics, and what was prioritized often told a different story.

And no, this was not some ultra-conservative, ultra-fundie church.

Sadly, these messages and actions play out in church and other religious groups often. This is a pattern I’ve seen echoed in many religious spaces.

And if you’ve felt it too, I want you to know – you’re not imagining it. And you’re not alone.

But, please know that no matter what people might say or how they may treat you, you are indeed very valued and truly worthy of so much love.

And, you are worthy of all your dreams, no matter how big!

You Are More Than Enough

No matter what anyone has told you - through words, treatment, or silence - you are deeply valuable.

You are worthy of love. Of rest. Of joy.

You are worthy of your dreams, no matter how big they are or how long you've held them in secret.

We need you to feel worthy of your dreams and passions, so that you can accomplish what you do best. We need you to really know how awesome you are - to believe in your worth - so you can do all you are here to do.

You hold within you a beautiful and unique mix of talents, energy, gifts, wisdom, and experience that enables you to make our world a better place in your own way. .

There is something only you can do in this world. No one can do the thing that you are here to do in the way that you can - no one! And we need you to believe in your worth, so you can do it.

The world needs you to feel, see, and be the amazing person that you are!

Let Love Lead You Back to Yourself

So trust Love.

Trust yourself – especially when you’re in that still, connected space where Love is real and you can feel it.

Don’t let anyone or anything stop you from enjoying your life and living out your calling and purpose.

Don’t let old wounds or limiting beliefs and messages convince you otherwise. Don’t let people keep you small just because they’re uncomfortable with your brilliance.

Trust Love and your true self.

You are here for a reason. You belong. You are enough.

You always have been.

You are more than enough.

A Final Word of Encouragement

When others try to get you to shrink back, don’t let them!

When shame whispers that you’re too much, too loud, too sensitive – don’t believe it. Don’t dull your light to appease them.

Keep being your authentic, beautiful, and powerful self!

And, go after your dreams – big and small.

Live fully. Love freely. And know this deep in your soul:

You are amazing!

With Love
